This month so far I've been gravitating towards the same two pen and ink combo's. My latest Lamy, Safari in LE Neon Coral with the matching Lamy Neon Coral ink. And the Pilot Prera in Transparent Light Blue with Sailor Jentle Sky High ink.
The Prera has been my everyday go to ever since I got it, it really is the perfect size and weight for me. Needless to say I've been swapping ink in and out of this thing constantly, although i've found a soft spot for this Sailor ink I picked up a couple months ago. It's one of the recently discontinued shades by Sailor and when I heard about that I had to pick up a bottle while I still could. It's a lovely in-between shade, not quite a royal blue but not quite a turquoise. A happy medium which is really lovely to use.
No matter what pens I have inked up at any one time, I can guarantee that there's at least always two if not three Lamy Safari/Vista's inked up in the mix. My first fountain pen was a Vista and ever since that i've always enjoyed using them. Always so reliable and smooth, you can never go wrong. I was first introduced to the LE Neon Coral when my friend Yasumi from WorshipBlues sent me a pack of the ink cartridges in an ink swap. I was hesitant at first, I normally gravitate towards the same few colours so a pink/orange was new for me but I'm so glad I did. It's such a beautifully unique shade. I haven't stopped writing with it, it's always in one of my Lamy's! Because I fell in love with the ink shade I had to pick up the matching Safari to go with it and the combination of them together just makes me happy.
I've never chosen what inks to used with the intention of them working together but this was a happy coincidence and maybe I should try to make this happen more often. I've found myself wanting to use both of these inks together in the same piece when writing and it's so much fun. They just work really great together and had to share.
What have you favourite pen and ink combinations been recently?
