Top 10 Inks From 2014

Last year was a great year for me where fountain pens are concerned. I was fortunate enough to be able to try a bunch of different inks in so many different shades, and I discovered some that have since become my go-to choices.
I thought I would compile a list of my top 10 inks from last year.

Mont Blanc - Mystery Black
Noodlers - X-Feather
Pilot Iroshizuku - Kiri-Same
Mont Blanc - Oyster Grey
Diamine - 1864 Blue Black

Noodlers - Navajo
Caran d'Ache - Delicate Green
Diamine - Grape
Sailor Jentle - Grenade
Lamy - Coral

Although I seem to be more open to trying different shades of blues, reds and other brighter colours. The blacks and greys included in this post have really been my staples since I first tried them. I've shared two of each because although they're quite similar they have differences that I enjoy.
X-Feather is a very true deep black, whereas Mystery Black is a softer black that I prefer to use when jotting down notes or brain storming.
Kiri-Same and Oyster Grey are both muted greys but on different ends of the spectrum. Kiri-Same is cool toned whereas Oyster Grey is very warm toned, I like switching between the two every now and then and having a subtle change.

This selection is a mere drop in the proverbial ocean compared to the huge choice of inks available on the market. There's also wide range of inks that have some unique features.
Pen Chalet has recently created an infographic to share some of these inks and what features they have, it's quite  interesting to see some of the properties inks can have.
Take a look at this infographic over on Pen Chalet.
