September '15 Inked Up

While cleaning through my fountain pen collection I thought I'd bring back a post I frequently did last year, sharing my favourite pen/ink combonations that I'm currently loving.

Here are the 3 I've been enjoying this month.

Lamy Safari White - M nib inked with Pilot Iroshizuku Kiri-Same

Lamy Safari's are always a go-to for me, coupled with their Medium stainless steel nib you have a reliable workhorse that is comfortable to write with for extended periods. I tend to write with grey inks majority of the time when I use fountain pens and this has to be my favourite, this one from Pilot is just right, not too light, not too dark and leaning a little to a warmer tone.

Pilot Prera Transparent blue - F nib (reviewed here) inked with Noodler's Ottoman Azure.

I've always been a fan of demonstrator style pens and usually always have one inked up. It would also be strange for me not to have at least one pen filled up with a blue ink, for Septmeber I've gone with this one from Noodler's. It's not a bright turquoise but it's not your generic blue ink, in some lights it almost looks like a dark teal shade.

Pilot Vanishing Point Matte Black -  B nib (reviewed here) inked with Yard-O-Led Jet Black (reviewed here).

The Pilot VP is the latest addition to my collection and I haven't stopped using it since I first got opened up the box. Writes like a dream, it's definitely swayed me preference to thicker nibs. I revisited a set of inks I used to enjoy but got burried in the back of my drawer, and I forgot how nice they were. This black from Yard-O-Led isn't as intense and deep as other blacks I use but it has some subtle shading that I really enjoy.
